#MusicMonday: September 5-11

Another week has come and gone, and with it was the start of the new school year for many of us. The warm, carefree days of summer are behind us and in their place they’ve left essays and school assignments.

Luckily for us, last week was a great week for music, with loads of our faves releasing new singles and albums - it’s like they knew we’d need a pick-me-up. So let’s jump in to Legendary Kids Press’ top 5 releases from the past week!

Of Mice & Men - Cold World

After two and a half years, Of Mice & Men have jumped back on the scene with their new album, Cold World. The start of a new chapter for the band, Cold World sees Of Mice & Men branching out to other genres under the “core” definition, and while it might not be for everyone (the album does feel a bit all over the place), there are definitely some treats waiting to be heard.

Give it a listen and let us know what you think!

Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness - “Fire Escape”

You know what we love more than Andrew McMahon? Andrew McMahon’s music, and that’s exactly what we were treated to last week. “Fire Escape” is McMahon’s first single since the release of his last solo album and it’s a track we know his fans will love. Mcmahon’s always had a way of telling a story with his music and it’s no different this time around.

Naked Walrus - “Minus”

Naked Walrus announced late last week that they’d be releasing a new EP later on this year, and to get us stoked on it, they decided to share with us the lead single, titled “Minus”. There’s not much to say about it other than you’re guaranteed to love it. So give it a listen. Make it one the five good decisions you make today.

The Front Bottoms - “Tighten Up”

The Front Bottoms are releasing a new 7″ this October and have begun teasing it by releasing the few tracks. This past week, they introduced us to “Tighten Up” and it’s just what you’d expect from the band. Plus, there’s a trumpet and you can’t not like a trumpet. It’s scientifically proven.

This Wild Life - Low Tides

We here at Legendary Kids Press believe that This Wild Life are one of the most underrated bands in the scene today and we’re hoping the release of Low Tides will bring them the attention they deserve.

If you are a fan of acoustic music that incorporates the likes of pop and pop-punk, then we suggest you give the album a listen. We promise you won’t be disappointed!
