#MusicMonday: June 13-19

It’s finally summer! The sun is out, the heat is unbearable (with warmer days ahead!) and some of year’s best music is finally being released. Summer has always been a time when bands release new music and schedule the best tours (*cough* Warped Tour *cough*), and we’re stoked to hear what 2016 has in store.

To begin the sunny season, we’ve rounded up the five best releases from the past week. Whether you like pop-punk, post-hardcore or are looking for a little twenty one pilots to brighten your day, we’ve got you covered. No need to thanks us.

Milestones - “Nothing Left”

Fearless Records are seriously on fire, right now! The label have been killing it with their signings lately and are continuing their winning streak with new signees, Milestones. The pop-punks are the second British band to join the label’s roster and boy, are we loving their debut!

Milestones will be re-releasing their debut EP, Equal Measures, in July and are showing everyone what they’ve got with “Nothing Left”. The track is filled with catchy hooks, dual-vocal dynamics and is an overall jam - everything you need on your summer playlist!

PS. Did you know we interviewed Milestones last March? Why not give it a read!

With Confidence - Better Weather

You can stream Better Weather via Spotify.

Better Weather is the debut album from Aussie pop-punks, With Confidence. Bringing about a sound that’s 5 Seconds of Summer meets All Time Low meets new-age Simple Plan, it’s a record that goes hard, has lots of melody, strong lyrical content and a vibe that screams summer!

With Confidence are one of the hottest bands of Hopeless Records and we’re stoked to see them bring Better Weather to life on Warped Tour this summer.

Crown The Empire - “Zero”

Need some heavy? Look no further than Crown The Empire. The band are back with the lead single off their upcoming album, Retrograde, out July 22 via Rise Records.

The track sees the band going heavier than we’ve previously heard, while keeping the fast pace and melodic chorus we know the band for, and it has us stoked to see what the rest of Retrograde has to offer. What we do know is this: it’s sure to be the album of the summer.

twenty one pilots - “Heathens”

You can stream “Heathens” via Spotify.

The track listing for the Suicide Squad album has been released and man, does it have some pretty awesome features: twenty one pilots, Panic! At The Disco, Skrillex, etc. And it’s the twenty one pilots track that’s got us stoked.

The album’s lead single, it’s a song that was perfectly designed for the movie. It’s got a light beat and a vibe that suits the film’s characters - honestly, how do Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun do it?

Now, if only the movie would be released already…

I See Stars - Treehouse

Treehouse is the new album from I See Stars and might we say, it’s also their best. The band’s first album since the departure of screamer Zach Johnson and guitarist Jimmy Gregerson, it sees Devin Oliver taking over the reigns of screamer - something he’s not too shabby at. While Johnson had more power, Oliver knows how to take control and the result is an album the band’s fans will love.

With Treehouse, I See Stars meld the heavy with their unique blend of electronic and alternative to create an album that’s not dependent on screaming to make it heavy, because honestly, there isn’t much of that. The instrumentation is enough to make it so, and we’re loving the new vibe the band has.
