Fierce Morgan Tease Music Video for New Single, “Elders”

“It’s always hard to give a good description,” says Owen Cousins of pop-punk quartet, Fierce Morgan. “We take a lot of influences from the 90s So-Cal punk era and mix this with more modern punk rock and pop-punk. It’s super fast and we love to play around with harmonies. It’s music to skate to, made by people who can’t skate.”
Fierce Morgan hail from Sheffield, UK, a town comprised of about 560,000 and home to the likes of Bring Me The Horizon and Arctic Monkeys. Made up four members - Owen, Hope, Tom and Jack - the band came together out of the ashes of two previous acts.
“Me and Hope were both in a terrible ska-punk band,” explains Owen. “We played a lot of shows with another terrible pop-rock band, of which Tom and Jack were members. Both bands split up and we all just wanted a band with a full commitment to getting out there, playing shows and making great music.”
Once the four members came together, they knew they could make music their careers. Uniting under the title of “Fierce Morgan”, they set right to work recording music, releasing their debut EP, DAT, in 2013; their second, Sneezycore, in 2014; and their third, 180, in July 2015. All three releases showcased the band’s ability to blend the melodies of pop-punk with the grind and pace of traditional punk rock, allowing them to stand out from the crowd.
Their unique sound also began grabbing attention of fans and bands alike, with the four-piece given the opportunity to embark on UK and European tours, as well as play shows with the likes of Neck Deep and Random Hand. With each passing show, the band’s fanbase grew and the calls for a new record began to increase.
Enter in Misanthropy.

Misanthropy is the band’s forthcoming EP, set for release March 18. Featuring a sound Owns says contains a lot of melody and harmonies, it’s a release that’ll show a lot of growth and bring the band the attention they no-doubt deserve.
“Our songwriting has certainly improved since the previous EPs, both musically and lyrically,” says Owen. “The EP really carries on a similar sound to our previous work, but there’s a lot more layers and intricacies to the music and we’ve come out with a much bigger sound.”
The band started off the creation of Misanthropy by coming up with guitar riffs they felt they could turn into full-length tracks. From there, they wrote lyrics and built the songs up with drums, bass and vocals, with their hard work coming together in what is sure to be their best release to date.
Out of all the songs on the release, Owen says he’s most excited for fan’s to hear the EP’s lead single, “Elders”. When asked why the band decided to lead with the track, he replies:
“This song has always stood out to us as extra special. We love all the songs on the EP, but this one has a bit more to it. It’s our collective favourite. We also believe that it is the most unique of the tracks and will really stand out in a scene where the same tricks are used over and over.”
The band plan to release the music video for “Elders” at the end of February and have decided to premiere the video’s teaser with Legendary Kids Press. Featuring the band discussing the track and video, the teaser also allows viewers a sneak peek at what the guitar-driven track sounds like:
In promotion of “Elders” and Misanthropy, Fierce Morgan will be embarking on a European tour with Cast Ashore at the end of March, with the band hoping to announce a follow-up tour for this coming summer.
As aforementioned, Misanthropy will be available worldwide March 18 via Fierce Morgan’s Bandcamp page. Those wishing to follow the band on social media can do so by visiting their official Facebook and Twitter pages.
