Most Anticipated Albums of 2016

2015 was a great year for music. Not only did loads of our faves release new albums, but many more went into the studio and recorded what are sure to be some of the best records of their careers. With many new albums set for release this year, we’ve decided to list our most anticipated. So take a look, grab you calendar and be sure to mark down these sure-to-be killer records!
Tonight Alive - Limitless (RELEASE DATE: March 4)

Tonight Alive released a killer album back in 2013, titled The Other Side. Filled with heavy pop-punk, killer vocals and lyrics that inspired listeners to embrace their individuality and strength, it was the album that put Tonight Alive on everyone’s radar. Now, they’re back with with their third release on Fearless Records: Limitless. Set for release March 4, Limitless is set to showcase a new side to Tonight Alive, one that goes beyond your typical pop-punk. Already released tracks bring about a nostalgia factor, bringing to mind the likes of Alanis Morisette, early Avril Lavigne and many more icons from the late 1990s/early 2000s. Limitless will bringing about a new Tonight Alive, and we’re sure as hell excited to see what it accomplishes.
PVRIS - TBA (RELEASE DATE: TBA)

PVRIS broke onto the scene in 2014 when they signed to Rise Records and released their hit single, “St. Patrick”. The track led to fans wanting more and eventually resulted in the release of the band’s label debut, White Noise. The record allowed them many opportunities, including stints on Warped Tour, an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, a tour with Sleeping With Sirens and Pierce The Veil, and much more, so obviously, the demand is high for a second release. The band have yet to say anything regarrding the matter, but given White Noise was released at the end of 2014, it wouldn’t be wrong to assume PVRIS will be giving us something new by the end of the year.
Bry - TBA (RELEASE DATE: TBA)

It’s not 100% that Bry’s new album, and his first with Polar Publishing, will be released this year. But given that he just spent six weeks in Los Angeles recording tracks for the pending record, we’d say it’s pretty likely we’ll be hearing new music from this Irish lad before 2016 is up. Set to be a blend of old, re-recorded tracks and new, soon-to-be fan favourites, Bry’s new album will see him expanding his sound and his listenership, and we’re stoked to see what he comes up with.
Pierce The Veil - TBA (RELEASE DATE: TBA)

We only have one thing to say about Pierce The Veil’s new album: finally.
No, seriously, it’s felt like ages since we last had an album from Pierce The Veil. Their last effort, Collide With The Sky, was released back in 2012, so we’ve been without a new collection of songs for over three years! The band offered listeners a taste of what to expect with the release of single “Here’s To The Zeros”, but it’ll be interesting to see what Vic Fuentes fully cooked up while he locked himself away in the studio. The band have been a force to be reckoned with in the post-hardcore/rock scene, so here’s hoping that their new album allows them to continue their upward trajectory.
Moose Blood - TBA (RELEASE DATE: TBA)

Moose Blood are easily one of the fastest growing pop-punk bands in the scene, with their debut album, I’ll Keep You In Mind, From Time To Time, filled with relatable lyrics, catchy guitar riffs and vocals that left you wanting more. Now, the UK quartet are set to release their second record, having spent a good part of 2015 writing and recording. A release date is still to be announced, but we’re fairly certain we’ll be jamming this album by year’s end.
Hands Like Houses - Dissonants (RELEASE DATE: February 26)

Not to be biased or anything, but Hands Like Houses are definitely one of the most unique bands on Rise Records’ current line-up. Blending post-hardcore riffs with rock melodies and killer clean vocals, the Aussie quintet have been carving their name into the scene over the past couple of years. This year, their set to release the follow up to 2014′s Unimagined: Dissonants, and given the teasers we’ve heard so far (the heavy “I Am” and the infectious “New Romantics”), this album is sure to be the best of their career - and possibly one of the year’s best.
We Are The In Crowd - TBA (RELEASE DATE: TBA)

To be honest, we’re not quite sure if we’ll be getting a new We Are The In Crowd album this year. Last May, the band announced they’d completed work on their third release under Hopeless Records, but since then, there’s been no word from their camp or Hopeless’ about a release. They haven’t toured since the Kerrang! Tour 2015 and, more recently, the band has been plagued with unconfirmed rumours that vocalist and guitarist Jordan Eckes had parted ways with them. Despite all this negativity though, we do really hope to hear new music from the band. Weirds Kids helped launch them into the sights of MTV and gained them a batch full of new bands, so it’s safe to say that a new release is greatly wanted.
The 1975 - I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it (RELEASE DATE: February 26)

The 1975 are a band that you either hate or love (from our observations), and boy, do we love them. The UK quintet’s self-titled debut was filled with everything one could ask for: catchy pop, melodic rock, entrancing indie and an overall sound that left us wanting more. It was an album that launched them into the sights of the mainstream, with people like Taylor Swift falling victim to the band’s sound, so the impending release of record #2, I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it, is something that many are looking forward to. In fact, I think it’s safe to say it’s the most anticipated record of 2016 for many.
As It Is - TBA (RELEASE DATE: TBA)

As It Is released their Fearless Records debut last year, in the form of Never Happy, Ever After. The album was filled with catchy and infectious pop-punk, and established the UK band as one of the best rising acts in the scene. Now, Fearless has announced we can expect new music from them and it’s safe to say we’re stoked! Never Happy, Ever After was constantly being jammed to through our headphones, so we’re positive As It Is’ second album will deliver the sound we’ve grown to love and so much more.
Courage My Love - TBA (RELEASE DATE: TBA)

Courage My Love’s new album is something fans of the band have been waiting for. Last year, the band dropped off their tour with Hawthorne Heights to work on the release and over the year posted updates about it’s progress, often sharing how excited they were to share new music with fans. Now, the release has been fully recorded, so it’s only a matter of time before we’re allowed to treat our ears to what is sure to be the band’s best release to date. Canada is known for producing great pop-punk and Courage My Love will show they’re no exception.
