Concert Review: Pierce The Veil & Sleeping With Sirens World Tour

Today’s the day, the long anticipated World Tour featuring PVRIS, UK natives Mallory Knox and, of course, tour headliners Pierce The Veil and Sleeping With Sirens, hits Seattle. This is a show fans from all around the state, and even neighboring ones, have been anxiously awaiting since its announcement months ago.
First up was female fronted PVRIS. The lights dimmed and the crowd cheered as the four members appeared onstage and the drums started. The set was packed full of songs from the band’s new album, White Noise, which has been heavily praised by fans. The highlight of the set was the band ending with their two most popular songs: “My House” and “St. Patrick”. The crowd sang along as PVRIS pumped them up, getting them ready for what was to come.
Up next, all the way from the UK, was Mallory Knox. Although I have not personally heard of the band or listened to their music, after watching their performance I am definitely going to check them out. Their energy-packed set kept the crowd moving and singing along, revving them up for the first headliner of the night: Sleeping With Sirens.
Chants of “Kellin” and “SWS” filled the room as fans waited for the set to begin. After what seemed like a long while, three members approached the stage to start off with a handful of acoustic songs. This was due to sound malfunctions and included the band’s cover of Goo Goo Dolls’ “Iris”. The crowd sang along to the acoustic favorites while the problems were fixed and the band were ready to start the real show. Sleeping With Sirens started their set off with songs from 2013’s Feel and ended with old fan favorites like “If I’m James Dean, You’re Audrey Hepburn” and “If You Can’t Hang”. After that, it was up to Pierce The Veil to close out the night.
As the seconds got closer to when the four-piece would hit the stage, the crowd shook with anticipation and screams wailed out from different areas as the lights dimmed. The stage was dark when the four shadowy figures ran on to the beginning of their song “Hell Above” and the confetti cannons blasted. The crowd cheered - finally, what they have been waiting for had arrived - and it was better than they could have expected. The show Pierce The Veil put on was by far one of the best live performances I have ever experienced. From confetti cannons to laser lights to jumping off risers, this was one show you didn’t want to miss. After nine fun-filled songs, including a singalong acoustic, Pierce The Veil was finally ready to close down the show and couldn’t think of any other way to end it than with “King For A Day”, where friend Kellin Quinn would come join them.
It was over. The only thing left was a sweat-filled room lined with confetti, lost shoes and empty water bottles ready to be cleaned up. The now empty venue to be prepared for the next night.
