Legendary Kids Press Counts Down - 10 Bands to Watch in 2015

1. PVRIS

Over the past year, PVRIS have become one of my favourite bands, and while one could easily argue that 2014 was the trio’s breakout year, I say they have tons more to show the world in 2015. With an album that is essentially any alternative rock lover’s dream, an upcoming opening slot on the second American leg of the Sleeping With Sirens & Pierce The Veil world tour and a couple of headlining shows, PVRIS are going to take over the world next year and I’m excited to be along for the ride!
2. Crystalyne

We here at Legendary Kids Press love Crystalyne (and not just because they’re fellow Canadians). The four-piece’s melodic take on female-fronted pop-punk is infectious and captivating, definitely enough to launch them into the spotlight next year. With a Japanese tour, a spot on Alternative Press’ “100 Bands You Need To Know” list and a set at Family’s Big Ticket Summer already behind them, it’s quite obvious Crystalyne are in for a major year.
3. As It Is

Brighton pop-punkers As It Is signed to Fearless Records earlier this year and are already showing everyone what they’re capable of. With a spot on next year’s Warped Tour and plans to release their label debut sometime next year, it’s certain 2015 will be a big year for these guys and I’m stoked to see how much they’ll accomplish.
4. Seaway

Can you tell I’ve developed a newfound love for pop-punk? Coming in at number four on our list is Oakville’s own Seaboiz. Currently signed to Pure Noise Records, the band embarked on quite a few high-profile tours this year and definitely have no plans on slowing down anytime soon. They’re currently beginning work on their second full-length, so be sure to stay tuned for new music!
5. Diamond Days

Diamond Days are alternative rock band from Liverpool, UK who are currently celebrating the release of their new EP, We’ve Come A Long Way. Having received, for the most part, pretty positive reviews, We’ve Come A Long Way features a sound that’s both infectious and easy to listen to. If you’re a fan of All Time Low, You Me At Six or even Blitz Kids, then I suggest you check these guys out.
6. The Truth Today

It’s time to add some post-hardcore to our list and who better than December’s featured artist, The Truth Today! The London, Ontario five-piece have plans to release a new EP in the near future and if its first single is any indication, the highly-anticipated release is sure to be a crowd pleaser. Who knows, it might even catch the eye of labels - Rise or Fearless, jump on these guys already!
7. Defy You Stars

Defy You Stars can be described as All Time Low meets old-school Marianas Trench meets Hands Like Houses. The band’s music is well-written and melodic, an easy listen for those who love good alternative rock. The trio are currently planning to release their debut album early next year, so make sure to stay tuned!
8. A Mouth Full Of Matches

Are you a fan of Evanescence? If so, then A Mouth Full Of Matches are the band for you! Not only do the Manchester five-piece have a killer sound that’ll give you goosebumps, they’re also fans of Adventure Time and, let’s be honest, anyone who likes Adventure Time is is pretty cool.
9. Fossil Youth

Fossil Youth signed to Take This To Heart Records earlier this year and plan to release their new EP, Intertwined With You, this coming February (stay tuned for our review, out next week). With a sound that encompasses more than the average pop-punk you hear nowadays, it’s guaranteed you’ll fall in love with the band the moment you press “play”.
10. Forever After

Punk rock is making its comeback and who better to lead the way than Forever After? These British rockers write relatable lyrics, have a catchy sound and are steadily making a name for themselves in their home country. With an upcoming tour with When Giants Fall on the books for January, these guys are planning to start the year off with a bang and I super excited to see what they’ll accomplish throughout 2015.
