Label Spotlight: 27 Studios

Born out of the mind of Music Industry Arts student Tyler Philips, 27 Studios began in October 2013. Joined shortly after by fellow MIA students Clara Gomes (The Truth Today) and Mitchell McCloy (Stained Glass Army), the label aims to bring semi-professional music engineers together with up-and-coming artists.
27 Studios hopes to offer recording, mixing, music video production, artist management and production to instruction of different instruments. However, as Gomes states, the trio’s main goal is to “develop artists and help them make a career [for] themselves. We are taking our passion for music and putting all of it into this business”.
As the label is run by musicians, one can be guaranteed a wealth of knowledge ranging from how to mix a song to how to survive touring life. Philips, Gomes and McCloy hope to share their talents with those who need them and are dedicated to ensuring the success of any artist in any genre.
So what makes 27 Studios different from your average record label? Well, as Gomes puts it, “We are a hard-working team that views this as play, not work.” The team are dedicating their lives to music and it definitely won’t be long until 27 Studios becomes a label to be reckoned with.
